COMPETITIONS
NESTLE 2020
This was my second competition in the industry. I experienced and gained so many new skills, as well as obtaining a greater insight into the industry.
This competition solidified my ability to work in a team and achieve the best service possible in a completely new environment.
This was my third competition of 2020. It was digitally based & I achieved a lot from this incredible experience. I obtained a WSET Spirits Award, as well as focusing on social media and sustainability within the industry.
I also got to experience how to run a business with the 'business challenge' all of which can be seen on my Instagram & Nestle's socials.

WESSEX SALON CULINAIRE 2019
Participant and winner of competition for Farnborough College at Wessex Salon Culinaire. As a team, we produced and served cocktails and canapes to guests with a theme. Not only did we win the competition but, also won best hygiene for the whole day from RSPH.
ACHIEVEMENTS & EVENTS

Caterers Conquer the Three Peaks Challenge
Climbing one mountain per day, students Ashley, Ben, Gabriella, Isabelle, Jay, Leon, Scott, Taylor, and Xander completed the challenge alongside Programme Manager for Hospitality and Catering Gwen Grace, Chef Lecturer Sean Patterson and Learner Services Officer Roxy Mills.
The challenge raised £1211 for the department through sponsorship, which will allow them to enter more catering competitions throughout the year.

Programme Manager for Hospitality and Catering Gwen Grace said:
“Climbing the mountains one after the other requires serious determination. This truly was a challenge for our participating students, and I am delighted to say that they all completed this challenge in our department’s characteristic ‘can do’ style. Completing all three mountains is an outstanding achievement and demonstrates what they can achieve if they set their minds to it. I would like to thank all the participating students for their commitment, and their families and staff who have gone the extra mile to support this trip!”
Taylor Corkery says: "This trip was a great experience for us all, we demonstrated dedication and hard work through out, overcoming challenges as a team and having a great time! One thing I will take from this experience is that if I put my mind to it, I can do it. I can't wait to get out into the hospitality field and demonstrate this practice."

I was fortunate enough to take part in the NCS Programme.
This was an amazing experience for me as it boosted my confidence in leadership, teamwork and also allowed me to work on my communication skills.
We faced a number of challenges as well as training in fire emergencies and had a great time meeting new people.
The experience has definitely benefited me for the future in a managerial role, as I believe understanding people and working in a team is vital for success.
